FatChanceBellyDance® Certified Studio

My dance journey began late 1999 when I agreed to do a term of bellydance classes to support a friend who wanted to try it. When I first learnt I didnt learn a particular style it was just referred to as 'bellydance'. As I grew I found I was more a bellydance cabaret style of dancer but then I found FCBD style (formally American Tribal Style (ATS)) and fusion in 2005. My speciality area of bellydance study is FCBD style. I love the costumes the movements and the special connections it has given me over the years.

I started teaching in 2003 and have had the privilege of teaching my own classes and classes within the studios I have belonged to over the years. I was the founder of Embellish Bellydance Mackay in 2011 and they are still going strong with their current director.

Formal dance qualifications include Keti’s A-Z original Personal Techniques in 2007, Fat Chance Belly Dance General Skills Certification and Teacher Training Certification in 2009. I have attended so many workshops with Australian and International teachers that I have lost count. I am still actively studying to improve my technique, knowledge and skills.

Performing is one of my passions and I have had the opportunities to perform different styles as a Soloist, in Duets, Trios and in Troupes with some amazing dancers over the years (you know who you are). I started out in restaurants, parties and community events then moved onto stage performances with Tribal Jewels (the youngest original member for 5 years back in the day) and currently Astarte Studio Bellydance & Fusion. I am an active member of Astarte Studios very own Steampunk Vagabonds. For more information on what the Steampunk Vagabonds are up to see Steampunk Vagabonds | Facebook
